Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are speculated to have their baby soon as pregnancy rumors have been surfacing. The "Scandal" star is said to have gained weight and now carrying a baby bump.

According to an insider of Star Magazine, de Rossi's pregnancy was not meant to diminish the divorce rumors. The site suggests that this is due to the couple's decision of building a family; all reported by Classicalite.

"The truth of the matter is, the baby wasn't an attempt to save the relationship," the insider divulges.

"Ellen felt that because of the change they had both made, they were already in a good place.

"She told Portia that she feels a baby is a missing piece of their puzzle, and would unite them forever."

Meanwhile, Portia stated her admiration for Shonda Rhimes -- creator of the highly anticipated television series "Scandal" -- where she plays as a recurring character incumbent RNC chairwoman Elizabeth -- and she reveals that she could not be fathom how to express her happiness concerning Rhimes's offer.

"She finally took the call and we had a meeting and she came up with a magnificent character for me and I could not be happier," the Aussie model, actress stated on E! Online. "Shonda Rhimes is a genius."

"I am so, so grateful to work for someone who has such a vision and such commitment to writing fantastic storylines, fantastic characters, exciting shows, fun shows to watch."

Ellen, herself, revealed the news on Twitter saying, "So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on "Scandal". Oops."
