MCs of JTBC's "Ssul Jeon" talked about the hot topic involving Jessica Jung's exit from Girls' Generation and her apparent conflict with her record label SM Entertainment, Allkpop reports.
On October 9, MC Kim Gura said, "When you look at conflicting situations for idols, the member in question has no one to lean on but the fans and other members, but in this case, the members turned their backs on her, right?"
"If you look at it from the big picture, it is not a beautiful farewell. I felt that, as expected, all groups are just groups for profit," he further commented. This comment seems to be in reference to reports claiming that SM and other members of the group have made Jessica choose between GG and her business, BLANC.
The MCs of the show are known for their bold opinions about current issues in the Korean entertainment industry
Kim added, "The other members are acting and going on TV, but did Jessica not distinguish herself with fashion? If what Jessica said is true, it could be unfair for her. Their individual livelihoods were foreseen. If you can't do it together, separating is also for the future."
Park Ji Yoon then commented that it has been an "eventful" year for SM, adding "I keep thinking of Heechul (Super Junior)."
Heo Ji Woong brought up that controversies involving Kris of EXO (May), Sulli of f(x) (July), and Jessica (September) happened in two-month intervals.
Park then speculated, "That means something is going to happen in November. I think that maybe one foreign member might cause some mischief." Perhaps this theory is in reference to rumors that Luhan of EXO, who has been absent in the recent activities of the group, might as well leave.
Lee Yoon Suk added that former 'Ssul Jeon" member Heechul, before he left the show, stated that "there were a couple of things that would be coming out."
"Last month, when we ate out for sea eel, he said there was not much time left. [Jessica's departure] must be one of them."
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Super Junior on "Radio Star," Kim asked Leeteuk, "There's nothing more coming out, right? Isn't Jessica the end of it?"
"You think that's the end, right?" Leeteuk answered leaving the studio in total shock. He added, "No one knows what will happen in the future," with his tone suggesting he had more to say.
However, KpopStarz wrote that he was just kidding. The other SuJu members reacted, "He's being weird. Should we drag him out?"
