The controversies surrounding SM Entertainment, did not only cause negative response and outrage from K-Pop fans, but also speculations that other artists might not be safe under the label.
In a recent interview segment on MBC's "Radio Star," some members of SM's idol group Super Junior, were asked about their insights on the recent issues surrounding SM and its artists, AllKPop reports.
The show's MC Kim Gu Ra, interviewed Kyuhyun, Siwon, Leeteuk, Kangin, and Eunhyuk. "These days, it is chaotic in SM," said the host. Kim Gu Ra then asked the them what happened.
Kyuhyun answered, "When I think about it, I think the company is trying to go forward together."
"I'm not sure to tell the truth. I also found out about it through the internet. I didn't know this would happen when [the Super Junior members] were invited [onto the show]," he added.
The show's MC said, "Super Junior is not safe, either. To oppose the company, you as an individual are too weak an existence. You have no choice but to listen to the company. There is always one."
SM Entertainment has been embroiled in several controversies involving some of its artists this year. This includes Kris of EXO leaving from the group, Sulli of f(x) going on hiatus, and the recent departure of Jessica from Girls' Generation.
Super Junior members themselves have also had a fare share of controversy with member Han Geng leaving the group in 2009.
Back on the interview on "Radio Star," Leeteuk revealed that he is deemed as the "dating consultant" in SM, the one in-charge of listening to relationship problems among artists, Koreaboo reports.
Dating rumors have also been involved in controversies among SM artists, like in the case of Sulli who was reportedly dating Choiza of Dynamic Duo. The same is true with the agency's confirmation that EXO's Baekhyun and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon are officially a couple, enraging fans of both groups.
