There's a new feature coming to Zenimax Studios' "The Elder Scrolls Online." Called the Champion System, Zenimax has designed it to replace the current Veteran system, which the studio claims is causing an imbalance between players.
LoadtheGame has more on the story, and details on how the Champion System will work. Once a player reaches level 50 in "The Elder Scrolls" online, they will have access to the Champion System- at which point, collecting XP will award the player Champion Points. These Champion Points can be placed into one of three constellations that dot the sky- the Warrior, the Thief and the Mage- each one allowing the character to progress in different ways.
While Zenimax is getting rid of the Veteran system, they stress that players with a Veteran rank of 14 will have access to Champion points.
KpopStarz adds that there will be more new content coming to "The Elder Scrolls Online," including new quests, roads and a brand-new challenge mode. As well, they add that it may be possible for one "Elder Scrolls" fan to write a storyline for the game (and solve the mystery of how one character was murdered with an arrow to the head), although it's not clear just what fans will have to do to get that opportunity.
In other "The Elder Scrolls Online" news, KDrama Stars reports that the game may be going free-to-play, much to the chagrin of "Elder Scrolls" fans (typically, free-to-play is seen as heralding a drop in quality and in increase in in-game purchases). However, this is just a rumor- the game's F2P status has not been officially confirmed by either Bethesda or Zenimax.
KDrama Stars cites the inclusion of a new loyalty program into the game (designed to reward those who have been paying customers for several months) as a potential first step towards free-to-play status.
