Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to be parents soon! Couple shares wanting a big family, source dishes baby gender to be revealed soon

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their first of many children, as both parent-to-be want to get started on a big family.

Finishing filming "Age of Adaline" in March seemed to be the perfect time for the couple to start a family, as now Lively is pregnant and past her first trimester. The announcement of Lively's pregnancy came from her own website on Monday, Inquisitr reports. According to the article, Preserve posted a photo of Lively looking happy while cradling her baby bump, making it clear that she was pregnant. The article even notes that considering Reynolds' and Lively's admittance that they wanted a big family, it's a surprise that this is their first.

Lively's pregnancy has been kept a secret, but The Boston Herald shares that Lively has already shared her pregnancy with her "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" co-stars in September. Now that the news is out, a source says that Lively is past her first trimester, is craving for ice cream, and already plotting for a nursery. The couple will also know the gender of their child soon.

The baby shower has also been done in private, with Lively sharing photos from the event on Preserve. According to a Fashion & Style article, Lively looked radiant holding a 3-tier cake in her baby shower. E! describes the event as fall-themed, with Lively enjoying the outdoors with other pregnant women who were wearing clothes and items advertised on Lively's site. This will not be the last post on Preserve to feature her pregnancy, as she hinted that the website will have "sprinkled" projects about expectant women.

Previously, Reynolds already spoke to Details about wanting a big family because both him and his wife's families were big. Reynolds mentions having three siblings, while Lively has four, with her being the youngest of five. "We'll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think," Reynolds said on expecting many kids.

Reynolds and Lively met in 2010 and had a private wedding in September 2011.
