Shortly after news about Lee Joon's withdrawal from MBLAQ broke, updates claim that another member, Thunder, is also leaving the K-pop by group.
According to Daily Kpop News, Thunder is reported to have his contract expiration date same as Lee Joon's. The website says the idol decided not to renew his contract to pursue a career as a solo artist in the future.
Meanwhile, MBLAQ's agency released an official statement about Lee Joon's alleged exit from the group. J.Tune Camp confirmed that the idol's contract has indeed expired. However, they claim that they are still in the process of discussing whether Lee Joon will leave the group. The same is true with Thunder, another more recent update suggests.
"Lee Joon is still going to participate in MBLAQ's activities including their concert in late November," said the agency through their statement.
The company also mentioned that the K-pop star has already informed them about his future plans and said they respect Lee Joon's decision with the career of the remaining members still under consideration.
"We are going to do our best effort for MBLAQ. We will inform you through our official statement about the future decision. Please show your endless love and interest for MBLAQ in the future as well," a part of their statement reads.
Moreover, other than the short official statement, J.Tune Camp has also spoke their position through a representative of the agency. Allkpop quoted the rep saying, "We will be taking all of the members' wishes and considerations, along with the agency's decisions to come to one final conclusion." The company's rep said they will release a full statement once they arrive at a final decision.
Meanwhile, it seems that one of the group's remaining members is not happy with the Lee Joon's withdrawal news. Shortly after the news broke, MBLAQ's member G.O took to Twitter to relay a message about "selfishness."
G.O tweeted, "Eventually, consideration is what one must endure facing selfishness." It was followed by another tweet that reads, "People who know understand all. Believe what you see as of now and as the time passes by you'll understand."
While the message was ambiguous and did not mention any name, fans were quick to assume that it was G.O's response to Lee Joon's decision not to renew his contract.
As of now, it remains unclear whether MBLAQ will continue as a trio or will look for new members.
