Although Rory McIlroy and Holly Sweeney may not be together anymore, that doesn't mean they have cut ties. In fact, McIlroy seems invested Sweeney's child's life as proven by the golf pro giving the child his first football boots.

Not all breakups result in loss. For McIlroy and Sweeney, it led to new beginnings, with Sweeney and her partner Jeff Mason welcoming a baby boy in September. Irish Independent reports McIlroy going to visit Sweeney and Mason at Hollywood, Co Down to pay them and the child a visit. During his visit, he gave his childhood sweetheart's son, Max, his first pair of football boots, which the golf pro himself posted an image of on Twitter. McIlroy's post said, "Brought my little buddy Max his first pair of Nikes last night! Great seeing you guys @JeffMase3 @HFCSween."

Nike is one of McIlroy's major sponsors, and Mason even shared on Twitter that little Max has been "rocking" the outfit the entire day. Mason also captioned the image "#TeamNike." Mason's Twitter account mentions Max's activities as well as his own, including wishing McIlroy good luck on his games.

This isn't the first time photos of baby Max has surfaced the internet. One month ago, Sweeney debuted herself a photo of the barely one-month-old baby in Team Europe colors on Twitter.

Childhood sweethearts Sweeney and McIlroy dated when they were 14, but broke up after six years in 2011. Despite the "acrimonious" breakup, it seems that the two have kept their lines open to communication and are doing good as friends, thinks Irish News.

Another Irish Independent article shares Sweeney and her partner cheering for Milroy's games, while McIlroy was reported happy to hear about Sweeney's pregnancy when it hit news in June.

After his breakup with Sweeney, McIlroy was linked with Caroline Wozniacki, and when the two broke up, Larry Brown Sports was "a little disappointed" that his relationship with Sweeney didn't rekindle.
