Samsung Galaxy S3 users have had to deal with problems including battery issues and slower performance. Some troubleshooting, settings change, and update are supposed to help.
According to KpopStarz, battery drain is one of the most common problems for users of Samsung Galaxy S3. Fortunately, there are some things that can help solve this, with changing phone settings being the safest. Some of the options a user has are switching to GSM only mode, turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, and the camera app, and not using Live wallpapers. When not using the internet or 3G signal, the battery can be saved by choosing the GSM only option. Meanwhile, turning off the Wi-Fi stops the phone from always looking for an internet connection. The same also goes for data connection-when not needed, it must be turned off.
Kpopstarz shares that apps should be closed properly, including the camera app. Apparently, "showing large amounts of moving colors," which happens when the camera and Live wallpapers are in use, drains the battery quickly. Adjusting the screen brightness will also help extend the battery life. A battery that has been exposed to extreme temperatures may also not last very long.
Aside from battery drain, some Samsung Galaxy S3 users are also experiencing performance and stability problems. Apps crashing constantly and the phone not being as responsive as it was before may be solved by clearing the cache. According to Android Pit, clearing the cache requires turning off the phone. The down, Home, and Volume Up keys need to be pressed simultaneously as the phone restarts, releasing all keys at once when the Samsung logo appears. Go to the "wipe cache partition" using the Volume Down key and select using the Power button. On the next page, select "yes." It will take a few seconds to completely clear the cache, and a system reboot is required at the end. After this, things should work better for the phone.
Also to improve the performance of the handset, bug fixes are available from the latest over-the-air update from Samsung. Gotta Be Mobile reports of S3 being updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat version that solves problems arising from the Android 4.4.2 update.
