Songs written by Zayn Malik for "Four," One Direction's latest album, apparently did not make the cut. This has sparked rumors that Perrie Edwards' fiancé will be leaving the band, especially after Labrinth announced that he will be working on a record with the One Direction member.
It surprised fans of One Direction when Malik's cousin, Sarooha, posted a tweet saying that Malik's three songs will not be featured in the album "Four." Apparently, the songs do not fit in the style of the group, reports J-14. "Because they said that it doesn't look like a 1D song.. The boys want to grown up and make different type of songs.." Sarooha's Twitter status says.
Malik's collaboration with Naughty Boy, "One Chance to Dance," also did not make it to the final cut. When asked why the track was not included in the album, Naughty Boy's short reply was simply "ask God."
The exclusion of Malik's songs from the band's latest album has awakened rumors of him going solo. Furthermore, in a recent interview with Labrinth at the Radio 1 Teen Choice Awards, the UK singer hinted of a collaboration with Malik. Mirror reports Malik being involved in a "soul anthem" with Labrinth, who took a two-year break from the spotlight to work on his album. In Labrinth's own words, "We're going to make a soulful record. 100 per cent."
Labrinth's involvement has strengthened rumors that Malik will pursue a solo career. Recording with Labrinth may apparently get in the way of recording with his band, which had Daily Star wondering how Malik will do both. However, this kind of news is something the band has already dealt with in the past, as Daily Star reports that last year, it was confirmed by a spokesperson that Harry Styles will not be leaving the group.
One Direction is a band that is renowned worldwide. Unreality TV even calls them a "global phenomenon, the likes of which the music industry hasn't seen since Beatlemania hit in the '60s." However, the article also mentions the possibility of the members leaving the group with Styles and Malik going solo, Louis Tomlinson possibly pursuing football, and Liam Payne entering music production. None of this will be happening soon, Unreality TV clarifies.
