Although Season 3 of the Netflix hit series "Orange Is The New Black" will not return until next year, it has not stopped fans and even media outlets to speculate on what to expect in the upcoming season. It could be recalled that in the last season, main protagonist Piper Chapman (Tayloy Schilling) has been overshadowed by the machinations of Yvonne "Vee" Parker (Lorraine Toussant), who is seen on the show stoking rivalries, CelebStoner.com said.
So when "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison" author Piper Kerman was interviewed by the Baltimore Sun, the publication could not resist asking the woman who is behind the inspiration of one of television's troubled blondes.
However, Kerman clarified her actual role in the Netflix series. She explained to the paper, "When the scripting process starts, I do read the scripts, and I send feedback directly to (showrunner) Jenji (Kohan). I just email it to her and say, ‘Hey, here's what I think.' And it's her to take or leave. I try to keep my feedback focused on helping them make Litchfield Prison a realistic world. I don't think they need a lot of help on things like character development or some of the story lines. But if there's something that's scripted that departs a bit from the reality of a federal prison for women, I try to help them bring it back in line..."
Would this mean that Piper would be getting back together with her lady lover Alex (Laura Prepon). Christian Today suggested that this would be possible, since the latter has been promoted to series regular, and that her character is expected to return to Danbury Prison after being tipped off by Piper back in Season 2.
In related news, Jezebel said that a celebrity is expected to spend time in the real-life Danbury prison. "Real Housewives" star Teresa Guidice has been sentenced on fraud-related charges, and will be incarcerated at the very prison Kerman had spent time with and used as an inspiration for "OITNB."
