K-pop idol group B.A.P has surpassed Daichi Miura of Japan to represent Korea-Japan in the succeeding rounds of votes for the much coveted "Worldwide Act" award on MTV EMA, Daily Kpop News reports.

The announcement was made on October 30 through the MTV EMA website.

Other than the idol group, other finalists include Alessandra Amoroso (representing Southern Europe), Bibi Zhou (South East Asia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan), Dawid Kwiatkowski (Eastern Europe), Dulce Maria (Latin America), Fifth Harmony North America), Mohammed Assaf (Africa, India, and the Middle East), One Direction (Northern Europe), Revolverheld (Central Europe), and 5 Seconds of Summer (Australia and New Zealand).

B.A.P is the second artist from South Korea to be nominated for the prestigious award. YG Entertainment's Big Bang successfully bagged the award in 2011. The group bested other global artists such as Britney Spears.

Fans still have until November 8 to show their support to the idol group by voting on MTV EMA vote page.

Before moving to the next leg of voting, B.A.P was hailed as the "Best Korea Act," beating other notable idol groups such as BEAST, CNBlue, KARA, and BTS.

On November 9, MTV EMA 2014 awards night will be broadcasted live in MTV channels across the globe from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The broadcast will reach 700 million households, according to reports.

Female rap superstar Nicki Minaj will host the event, which will be graced by other high-profile artists such as Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Kiesza, and Royal Blood

British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be recognized in the event and will be given the prestigious Global Icon Award.

Meanwhile, TS Entertainment, B.A.P's record label confirmed that the group will be cancelling their South American concert tour as they will be taking a hiatus.

The cancellation of "B.A.P Live on Earth 2014 South America Attack" was announced by the agency on October 28, according to Daily Kpop News.

According to their official statement, which was posted on the idol group's official Facebook account, the idols have to take a rest for the meantime. The agency apologized to the fans and promised that "B.A.P will come back with the Best, Absolute, and Perfect stage/performance than ever within a short time."
