"Longmire" may be cancelled, but its rabid fans will never stop fighting to find the crime drama a new network.
And they've just come up with a new plan.
According to Enstars, the latest way that the "Longmire" mobs are rallying around their show is to try and land a few People's Choice Awards for the series.
Bear in mind that "Longmire" is not nominated for any People's Choice Awards, but the awards show does have a write-in category, and if "Longmire" fans are able to flood that category with enough write-ins, their show actually has a chance of winning.
"Longmire" Star Bailey Chase is following along with the crowds, tweeting to his followers to vote for him as "Favorite Cable TV Actor."
"Last day to VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN TIL OCT 30" tweeted Chase, along with a link to the People's Choice Awards voting page.
While there hasn't been much news of any networks actually wanting to pick up "Longmire," securing even one People's Choice Award would be a huge win, and show that the fans have some serious power behind them. That's what networks want to see- and what's caused shows like "Community" and "Futurama" to survive a cancellation.
What may also help is how involved the stars of "Longmire" are with the campaign. Recently, Enstars also reported how "Longmire" actor Hunt Baldwin was tweeting support to his fans, saying things like:
"So many amazing friends/fans. Thanks for sticking with us in our quest for #morelongmire #LongLiveLongmire"
And
"Walt is a patient man. But he's got nothing on his fans. Thanks everybody for hanging in there with us! #LongLiveLongmire - Hunt Baldwin"
Having major actors in their camp definitely helps the "Longmire" crowd. We'll see in the coming months whether it really has any effect.
Check back soon for the latest news on "Longmire" and its march towards un-cancellation.
