"Frozen" sequel not happening soon as Disney is working on another project supposedly similar to the hit movie. Meanwhile "Frozen" continues to rake in sales thanks to its merchandise and fans anticipate the upcoming short film, "Frozen Fever."
"Frozen" is one of the biggest Disney movies to have been created, and fans are looking forward to more. However, according to Latinos Post, a sequel is not happening any time soon. This is after Disney CEO Bob Iger said via Hallels that they want to make a perfect movie sequel, one that will not disappoint fans.
Master Herald explains, "The animation film is not rushing into a sequel. Disney believes in slow, but steady progress. They are giving top priority to the fans of the franchise and in no way want to jeopardise their appreciation for the sequel."
Though many would be disappointed to know that a sequel is not in the works just yet, "Frozen" continues to live on from the merchandise related to the movie and new products being developed. According to Christian Today, a short film for Anna's birthday will also be created. Entitled "Frozen Fever," Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff will return for another glimpse at the life of the sisters. Air Herald clarifies that the film will not be heading to theaters and will instead go straight to video.
Aside from the short film, novels about "Frozen" are also being created, adds Air Herald. This is on top of memorabilia related to the movie.
While "Frozen" may not be getting a sequel just yet, Disney is apparently busy with something for the big screen that will capitalize on its success. Air Herald talks of Disney's new project, Moana, to focus on a Polynesian princess. Early reviews are hopeful about the film. Air Herald says that 'Moana could do well because of its elements similar to "Frozen." As Air Herald describes, "'Moana' will still have a Disney princess, it's being directed by two famous Disney directors, has a female-centric story, and many people are praising the art direction. If 'Frozen 2' won't be coming for a long time, then 'Moana' might just be the movie you were looking for instead."
