Fans of former EXO member Kris were heartbroken after new broke that the singer deleted his Instagram account. Fans expressed their disappointment as the account was the only way they can get updates about Kris.
However, it was immediately reported that the account was actually deleted by a hacker. Kevin Shin, Kris's friend explained what happened.
"Kris Wuyifan's instagram account as well as his e-mail account has been hacked and the instagram account has been deleted by those who have hacked it," Shin wrote on his own Instagram account. "Kris as well as his friends, company, and management are taking every measures to find out who was behind this. Legal actions will be taken into account."
Now, Kris's Instagram account galaxy_fanfan is up and running again. The singer, who is now more commonly known as Wu Yifan, expressed his apology to the fans via his account.
In a November 10 post Kris wrote, "I sincerely apologize to all of my fans who have supported me through everything. I am sorry that this issue may have caused you to worry. I have just gotten back control over my Instagram account. My team and I are doing our best to revitalize e-mails and all other lost information. Please accept my apology and thank you for understanding."
In other news, the former EXO member is busy with his projects as a solo artist in China. The Chinese-Canadian recently released a self-written song for the OST of upcoming movie "Somewhere Only We Know," which he is part of the cast.
The track was released ahead of the movie, through a live stream event that was part of his 24th birthday celebration on November 6.
Wu Yifan made headlines after leaving highly successful megagroup EXO in May, after filing a lawsuit against record label SM Entertainment. The singer has since moved to China and continued his career as a solo artist.
