The Philadelphia 76ers will head to Dallas to face Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks Thursday night on November 13, 2014. The game will tip off at 8:35 PM Eastern Time at the American Airlines Center and can be viewed live online via streaming here.
The 76ers (0-7) are set for a tough road trip early in the season but the team will finally get some help from their top young prospects as they look to put an end to their worst start in 42 years. Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel are expected to play in the game against the Mavericks giving head coach Brett Brown a more complete Sixers squad at his disposal for the first time this season.
"For sure," the head coach said Wednesday, after practice at the PCOM Complex, via The Reporter. "We will welcome them back with open arms. There has been a spirit at practice that has been noticeable. And I think it's born out of the excitement of just having two friends back, two teammates back and two pretty good players."
The Mavs (5-3) have won eight straight against the 76ers at the American Airlines Center and are currently among the NBA's leaders when it comes to shooting the ball from beyond the arc - with 8.6 made 3s per game after going 10 for 27 in Tuesday's 106-98 win over visiting Sacramento Kings.
Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 23 as Dallas overcame a 24-point deficit - the third-biggest comeback in franchise history - in their victory against the Kings, overtook Hakeem Olajuwon for ninth on the all-time scoring list by increasing his point total to 26,953.
"You know to pass 'The Dream' is unbelievable," said Nowitzki, in his 17th season with the Mavericks per ESPN's Game Preview. "He was unguardable on the block. His footwork, his skill level, his hands, his touch was second to none, so I'm pretty proud."
Chandler Parson, who struggled mightily in the previous two games on 2-of-20 shooting, was able to break his scoring slump dropping five 3-pointers in his 19 total points. Parsons averaged 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists in his last three against the 76ers last year with the Houston Rockets.
Dallas is the favorite in this match up, laying -13.0 points here at home. The Total has been posted at Over/Under 209.0 per Pro Cappers.
