Only a few days after revealing their latest unit project, Hi Suhyun, YG Entertainment has again amped up the excitement as they dropped another intriguing "Who's Next?" teaser announcing two upcoming hip hop projects slated before the year ends.
The new teaser features five coins representing five unnamed YG artists that will be part of a so-called "YG Hip-Hop Project." Just recently, it was revealed that the first artist is none other than Big Bang leader, G-Dragon, Allkpop reports.
Fans have been previously guessing that GD could be part of the project after industry reps' prediction that Big Bang's subunit GD&TOP will be making a comeback as a duo in four years. If their predictions are true, then T.O.P could be later revealed as part of the project as well.
There were reports earlier that two singers set a schedule for a filming of KBS 2TV's "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook."
A rep from a music distribution company suggested that if the rumored comeback materializes, it could be of a solo of either of the two Big bang members, with the other as a featured artist. "I cannot confirm the singers' album release schedule beforehand without the consent of their agency," the rep said. "There is a large possibility it could be a person's solo album rather than a unit with two people, G-Dragon and T.O.P. I think the other person is a supporter."
However, there are also speculations that it could be another Big Bang member Taeyang rather T.O.P. G-Dragon and Taeyang were reportedly spotted in California filming what looks like a music video.
Koraeboo noted that before debuting as Big Bang members, G-Dragon and Taeyang were supposed to be launched as duo GDYB (G-Dragon and Taeyang's real name Youngbae).
According to the teaser image posted on YG's official Twitter account, the first project will be revealed on November 21 and the second will be on December 2.
Fans will have to wait for other updates to know who else will be part of the upcoming hip-hop project.
