The Duggars Under Fire from the LGBT Community- New Petition to Cancel '19 Kids and Counting'

By

It was just last week that the Duggar family, of "19 Kids and Counting," was under fire from the LGBT community, having allegedly banned a gay couple from both their celebration of kissing and their Facebook page in general.

But since then, the backlash hasn't died down- it's only gotten heavier. Now, it's been reported by Radar Online that a petition has been started up against the Duggar clan, calling them out for their alleged actions and asking their series to be taken off the air.

The petition, which can be seen at Change.org, is entitled "End LGBTQ fear mongering by the Duggars." The petition accuses the TLC family not only of censoring the photos of gay fans, but of something far worse- a robocall by mom Michelle Duggar, which claimed transgendered people are actually just child predators trying to sneak into girls' bathrooms.

According to the petition, Michelle's robocall contained the following:

"The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men - yes I said men - to use womens and girls restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only. I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls"

The petition also claims that the Duggars are donating mass amounts of money to candidates seeking to repeal the Fayetteville City law- an anti-discrimination law that would stop people from discriminating against people who are gay or transgender.

This seems to be the case, as the Fayetteville Flyer reports the Duggars have donated $10,000 to candidates who would vote against the law.

Although it seems unlikely the petition will have any major effect- "Duck Dynasty" went through a similar backlash last year, after Phil Robertson said that homosexuality is a sin, and they're still on the air without penalty.
