Who would you cast if you were in charge of "The Hunger Games?" Would you pick the same three actors we've grown so attached to- Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson- or would you pick someone else?
Well, Yahoo posed this question to the actual stars of "The Hunger Games," and... let's just say we should be thankful these three aren't in charge of casting movies.
Here's Hemsworth's choice to replace himself: "I'd probably want Melissa McCarthy to play my part. I just think she's great and she would bring so much honesty and truth to the role."
Jennifer Lawrence? "I feel like Keanu Reeves or Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson could really bring the strength that I was lacking, and the agility. But if I were going female I'd go with Bette Davis. And I guess the obvious choice would be Shailene Woodley. She's proven that she could do it."
Josh Hutcherson? "I would choose young Dustin Hoffman, if it's possible to go back in time. As in, 'The Graduate' or 'Marathon Man.'"
Hutcherson sounds like he's actually being serious, but the other two, not so much (unless Jennifer Lawrence is a really, really big fan of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).
But amazingly, some of those answers aren't far from the truth. Pop Sugar reports that Shailene Woodley actually was nearly cast as Katniss Everdeen, even if she missed out to Lawrence.
As well, Hollywood.com has another handful of actresses who nearly made the part- even if Lawrence isn't hand-picking them to be her alternate universe replacement.
Other candidates were Abigail Breslin, Chloe Grace Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Emily Browning.
Maybe if "The Hunger Games" ever gets remade (hey, it could happen- rumors of a "Twilight" remake were bouncing around for a while) we could see one of these other actress launched into the role.
Or maybe Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
