Super Junior's maknae Kyuhyun recently won #1 on this Mnet's "M! Countdown" this week. The idol just recently made his solo debut with "At Gwanghwamun," which has been received positively by fans.
In a clip from the show, it seemed as though Kyuhyun was overwhelmed with the success of his debut as solo singer. He accepted the trophy and for a while, the idol was not able to speak clearly as he was visibly emotional.
During his thank you speech, the idol said, "Members, ELF, I got no.1." The live broadcast saw Kyuhyun's impressive vocals as he sang "At Gwanghwamun," creating a romantic atmosphere on the show.
His victory even became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter. The hashtag #Kyuhyun1stWin became a hot topic online thanks to numerous Super Junior fans from different part of the world.
The Super Junior member competed for the first place with female group, AOA.
Kyuhyun's win did not come as a surprise to many as he has received an all-kill shortly after the release of his ballad single. The song did not only top in major local music charts but also on iTunes album chart in eight Asian countries. It also received high rankings on iTunes pop album in different countries.
According to Enews, the music video of "At Gwanghwamun" also ranked no. 1 on the music video real time chart of Chinese online streaming site iQiyi's, under its Korean section.
Meanwhile, the show was filled with a number of performances from various K-pop artists. On the recent episode, fans saw solo and unit debuts, collaboration, as well as comebacks, allkpop reports.
Former KARA member made her solo debut with "MAMA," while YG's new unit HI SUHYUN made their unit debut with "I'm Different." The episode also saw collaboration of SISTAR's Hyorin and Joo Young on "Erase."
As for comebacks, Ulala Session returned with "Best Girl," 10cm with "Missing You," as well as JYP's rookie group GOT7 with "Stop Stop It."
Other performers include Kyuhyun's fellow SuJu member Zhoumi, rookie girl group Lovelyz, as well as Seo Taiji, Epik High, Yoon Hyun Sang, Hi.Ni, Almeng, and D.Holic.
