Nintendo Giving "The Legend of Zelda Wii U" A Graphics Overhaul, Game Has "Become Something Even More Amazing"

By

"The Legend of Zelda Wii U" looked pretty good, right? Not very many people were complaining about the graphics when the game debuted at E3 this year- according to Christian Post, gamers were actually excited about how the game's graphical style was reminiscent of past Zelda games.

But that doesn't matter to Nintendo, and they've been pumping up the game's graphics as much as possible. Nintendo Everything published a recent piece detailing an interview with Eiji Aonuma, producer of the latest "Legend of Zelda" game. The interview was with Famitsu, but it was also in Japanese, so Nintendo Everything translated it for an English speaking audience.

Here's the relevant quote from the interview: As far as the graphics are concerned- "now it looks more amazing than what was shown at E3."

Aonuma also discussed new enemies in the game (specifically, the bizarre-looking tentacled monstrosity in the trailer) and how players will have to employ more strategy than before when defeating them. "If an enemy like this appears, how would you beat it?" asks Aonuma.

As well, KpopStarz has another quote from Aonuma that describes the game's new graphical style in more detail-

"Everyone has been imitating this (snaps fingers) (laughs). I was told by many people that it was "beautiful," Aonuma said in the interview.

"I thought about various ways to make the graphical style fit the vast new Zelda world; imitating the real world attached an important feeling of realism, and making it look different to the past [Zelda titles], this was done by drawing inspiration from Japanese animations. Now, compared to what we showed you at E3, it has become something even more amazing."

The Famitsu interview also includes an important bit of information- that Nintendo will be showing off more of the game at next year's E3.
