Nam Taehyun, member of rookie K-pop group WINNER, has become the talk of the town after the idol was caught using impolite speech towards fans during an event.

Taehyun became a trending topic on sites such as Nate, Naver, and Daum after he told fans to be silent in a less than polite way. The incident happened during the GS& Concert 2014 last November 23 in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Koreaboo reports.

After their performane, each of the members introduced and greeted the audience. Daily Kpop News wrote that unlike other member's calm and courteous introduction, Taehyun seemed overwhelmed and shouted as he introduced himself.

However, that was not the end of the story. When it was the group's leader, Kang Seungyoon's turn to speak, the crowd cheered so loud. Seungyoon's voice is almost inaudible because of the crowd. Then suddenly, Taehyun interjected and shouted, "Speaking here!" in an apparent move to tell the fans to keep silent.

In the video, even Seungyoon was visibly surprised and perhaps embarrassed by his fellow member's action. There was an awkward moment until he resumed speaking.

Afterwards, the video was posted on an online community board with the title "WINNER Nam Taehyun's Banmal." Banmal means informal or casual speech, which is considered inappropriate in such events. The video has since gone viral and received negative comments.

Koreaboo wrote that the incident has reminded people of previous rumors about Taehyun's bullying past. The video has received comments, such a "For a rookie, Nam Taehyun has a lot of controversies," "Even children use polite words when making a public speech," and "Did he just scream with an annoyed tone?"

While some pointed that the idol might be just teasing the fans, many still believed that when Taehyun did was rude.

Meanwhile, the "GSConcert 2014" were attended by other idols such as Girl's Day, SISTAR, Ailee and Psy.
