The most awaited music event of the year, "2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards" is just around the corner and as voting is nearing its close on December 2, it seems fans of EXO are making more efforts to show their support for the group.
As of December 1 rankings, EXO remains closely behind their seniors and label mates Super Junior on the Best Male Group award. SuJu has so far received 32.8 % of votes or over 18.8 million votes, whereas EXO is at close second with 32.6% of votes or over 18.7 million votes.
Meanwhile, the group is also tailing another senior act and label mate, TVXQ for the Best Dance Performance Male Group category. TVXQ's "Something" has received 40.3% or 23 million votes while EXO's "Overdose" has 35.6% or 20.3 million votes.
For the UnionPay Artist o the Year award, EXO is again in competition with Super Junior. SuJu has 22.9% of votes or 13.7 million votes while EXO is at second place with 19.8% or 11.9 million votes.
EXO is in the lead for the UnionPay Song of the Year award for their hit "Overdose." The SM Entertainment male group has 32.3% of the votes or 19.47 million votes while their seniors TVXQ's "Something" has received 16.07 million of votes, which is equivalent to 26.7%.
With several hours left before voting closes, still, no one can tell what the results would be. But knowing the impressive fanbase of EXO from across the globe, it would not be surprising at all if EXO ends up receiving these four awards.
It was previously announced the EXO will be part of the lineup of performers for the event along with G-Dragon and Taeyang as well as the recently confirmed SISTAR, INFINITE, and IU. The awarding ceremony will be held at Hong Kong Asia World Expo Arena on December 3.
In other news, EXO-K is recently featured on the CF of famous ice cream specialty shop Baskin Robbins. Members Suho, Chanyeol, D.O, Sehun, Baekhyun, and Kai showed their cute charms as they promoted different flavors of the brand's Christmas themed ice cream cakes.
