The Apple iPhone 6 comes with a hefty price tag, but if it's just the appearance one is after, there are some clones of the handset that could be interesting. Apparently, an iPhone 6 clone has better features as well as a lower price tag.
Load the Game talks of a clone of the iPhone 6 called Dakelele Big Cola 3 that is "almost one hundred percent identical" except that it has better hardware. According to the article, if the smartphone had the Apple logo in its back, it would have been mistaken with the original.
While externally, Dakelele Big Cola 3 may be almost similar to iPhone 6, inside the clone seems to be better than. Load the Game says, "This iPhone 6 replica pretty much puts the original to shame with its 5-inch 1080p resolution display and 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 chipset complete with octa-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and 3 GB of RAM."
The clone also sports a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary front-facing camera courtesy of Sony. Dakelele Big Cola 3 also offers 16GB of internal storage along with an expandable memory support for up to 128GB, adds Load the Game.
Another notable feature of the iPhone 6 clone is its sapphire glass cover, "a feature that Apple also promised for the iPhone 6 but never managed to provide," Load the Game reminds.
It may be a clone of the Apple iPhone 6, but Dakelele Big Cola 3 does not run on iOS. According to Load the Game, rather than Apple's operating system, the clone comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Moreover, the handset is only available in China.
Another smartphone in China is also being called a clone of iPhone 6, and this time it's from Lenovo. According to Christian Today, Lenovo's Sisley S90 "has the similar metal body and rounded edges like the iPhone 6, similar color options, and its speaker is even placed at the exact same location." Internally, the two are very different, however.
Despite it not being the first time that phone vendors have released similar-looking gadgets, Christian Today says that Lenovo's "has the most glaring similarity." Apparently, their promotional ads also look similar.
News of Apple's design being cloned is nothing new, but interestingly, according to Design Trend, Apple's design itself is being called a clone of another Chinese phone vendor.
Design Trend says, "Chinese smartphone-maker Digione revealed Monday that it sent a letter to Apple in September claiming that the tech giant's new smartphone may infringe on a company-registered trademark that was granted in July, according to China's State Intellectual Property Office."
The smartphone being offered by Digione is a low-end gadget with 5.5-inch display and an eight-core processor.
