Len Goodman is quitting "Dancing with the Stars" but not "Strictly Come Dancing" and Maksim Chmerkovskiy is rumored to take his place as judge.

Goodman made the announcement himself, confirming his exit after the spring season is over, reports Digital Spy. According to Goodman, he will be leaving because he wants the time off to spend with his family.

"I've got my wife, I've got my son, my mother is still alive and she's in hospital-I've had virtually no time to go and visit her," Goodman says, explaining that he wouldn't be doing the "flying backwards and forwards" to be a part of the American show anymore.

Goodman further revealed that he will not be participating in the upcoming "Strictly Come Dancing" tour. Digital Spy reports Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup to be taking his place. Also according to the article, Goodman mentioned having to choose between "Strictly Come Dancing" and "Dancing with the Stars," and he ultimately decided to leave the latter.

Goodman explains: "Without them (Strictly Come Dancing) coming along and asking me to be one of the judges, I would never have done anything. I'd never have done the American show, I'd never do other little things that I've done."

"Dancing with the Stars" is the American version of "Strictly Come Dancing," shares Mirror. Goodman is the lead judge for the British show.

While he will be exiting "Dancing with the Stars," Goodman thinks that Bruno Tonioli, who is a part of both "Dancing with the Stars" and "Strictly Come Dancing" will still be on board for the two.

As for the vacancy Goodman will leave in "Dancing with the Stars," Examiner recalls Juliann Hough entering the 19th season of the show as a fourth judge, but was met by criticism especially because of her alleged rudeness towards Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Chmerkovskiy is another possible replacement for Goodman after he expressed interest in being a judge.

Examiner wonders if Chmerkovskiy could be impartial with his brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, being a competitor, but reminds that Hough had been a judge despite her brother, Derek Hough, being a contestant.
