According to the official Facebook page of CBS Network's long running series, "The Bold and the Beautiful" actress Kim Matula will be making her exit on this week's episode. According to celebdirtylaundry.com, the executive producers initially stated that the "character of Hope Logan will make an exit, and there will be no recast."
The report with Soap Opera Magazine further states that the actress' final scenes will showcase of her (Matula) sharing memories with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).There will be several flashback moments which would highlight the bittersweet romance the two share, the report said.
However, in a recent edition of Soap Opera digest, executive producer Bradley Bell seems to have a change of heart. Bell told the magazine that "Hope Logan will be a central part of the B&B cast." This would mean that there will indeed be a recast for Logan's character.
There have been initial plans to kill of the character of Hope Logan, an insider of the CBS soap says. However, Bell told Soap Digest Magazine "Hope Logan is a critical and central character to the show. Hope will continue to be on the show. We're losing Kim Matula, who is a brilliant actress, and I am hoping, at some point, she will return in the role - but the role will continue. But now, I've lost so many [actors and actresses] in recent years that I'm excited about the challenge."
As of this writing, there are no definite plans as to who will be recast as Hope Logan. There have been rampant rumors circulating on the internet regarding the Hope Logan recast. According to celebdirtylaundry.com, it was a general fan theory that General Hospital actress Julie Berman will be filling Matula's shoes. However, some fans on Twitter have speculated that Days of our Lives actress Chrishell Stause will be offered the role.
Matula's final episode will air on Friday, December 12.
