The "Ghostbusters" reboot could see Jennifer Lawrence and Rebel Wilson together, along with other possible candidates such as Emma Stone and Melissa McCarthy.

Though the script is still in the works, The Mary Sue reports director Paul Feig already meeting with several actresses for the "Ghostbusters" reboot. According to the article, Rebel Wilson and Jennifer Lawrence have met with the director while Melissa McCarthy, Lizzy Caplan, Amy Schumer, and Emma Stone have expressed interest in the project, citing Uproxx as source.

According to Uproxx, "Ghostbusters 3" is being planned for a 2016 release date, which would need for the cast to be finalized soon.

Digital Trends reports Lawrence herself breaking the news of having a meeting with Feig during her interview with MTV UK, stating, "I had dinner with him (Feig)."

The upcoming "Ghostbusters 3" will follow after the first film in 1984 and the second in 1989, which apparently, Lawrence was not aware of. When told about the second "Ghostbusters" movie, Lawrence's response was, "Are you serious?"

However, Digital Trends says that Lawrence not knowing about the second film in the franchise would not be a hurdle in her being part of the third, as "Ghostbusters 3" will be made as a "total reboot."

Lawrence is an award-winning star that is linked to the successful "The Hunger Games" franchise as its lead character, Katniss Everdeen. Gold Derby states, "Jennifer Lawrence now has eight career nominations with three wins. Her latest is as the action star of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.' Her three victories came for her lead role in 'Silver Linings Playbook' (2012), the action award for 'The Hunger Games' (2012), and as part of the 'American Hustle) ensemble (2013)."

While Uproxx states the pool of women considering the project is "an impressive collection of recognized actors" one thing that was notable in the list of candidates, however, is that it is "less racially diverse than the original films," states The Mary Sue.
