When in Hollywood, it seems like that quickest and most controversial way to get over your ex lover is to write a song about them. Celebs like Taylor Swift have certainly seem to be laughing all the way to the bank because of this tactic. Will rapper Nick Cannon follow suit after his heavily publicized divorce from diva Mariah Carey?
The rapper has recently taken to Twitter, shutting down rumors that he is recording any songs in his upcoming album that would contain any "controversial lyrics" that woul diss his estranged wife and their messy split.
"I will never say anything negative about @MariahCarey. We are forever a family rooted in love." the rap star tweeted.
Cannon also insisted that the rumors scattered by the media are "false silliness" according to a report from Radar Online. The rapper also said that while he is a celebrity, there are some personal matters that he would like to keep private.
"I am always an open book but personal matters are just that, personal," he wrote. "So please respect my family and respect the process." Cannon wrote on his Twitter account.
The celebrity couple were wed in 2008, but the reports of their breakup began earlier this summer. Cannon, on the other hand has chosen to support Carey despite their controversial separation. He has been vocal in defending Carey against backlash according to a report from ET Online.
"In other words, all you vultures and bottom feeders searching for a story can go #ChokeYourself #Ncredible." the rapper tweeted, shutting down rumors that media has perpetuated.
The pair are in the process of finalizing their divorce and are discussing as to who would take custody of their three-year old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
