Coachella 2015, which is slated to happen on April 10-12 and April 17-19, will be headlined by Drake, AC/DC, and Jack White. Steely Dan, Florence and the Machine, Marina and the Diamonds, and many others join the twin-weekend lineup.
U-T San Diego reports that the 2015 Coachella Valley Music & Fine Arts festival to be held in April will be headlined by Drake, Jack White, and AC/DC on both weekends. According to Billboard, Ac/DC has a new album coming up, to be promoted during the event, though "slotting them as the Friday night headliner seems awfully generous in 2015."
Apart from the three headliners, other artists will be featured as well, including Steely Dan and Sturgill Simpson.
Also from U-T San Diego, "San Diego's Drive Like Jehu, which drew an overflow crowd to its 2014 reunion concert at the Balboa Park Organ Pavilion is also in the lineup, as is Tijuana's Nortec Collective Presents Bostich & Fussible."
Also slated to perform at the 2015 Coachella will be Florence + the Machine, alt-J, St. Vincent, Belle & Sebastian, Ryan Adams, Tame Impala, Interpol, Alabama Shakes, Lykke Li, Interpol, The Weeknd, and the reunited Ride.
Other performers who are scheduled to appear are FKA twigs, Desparecidos, The Orwells, Marina and the Diamonds, Angel Olsen, The Cribs, Squarepusher, Flying Lotus, Ratatat, Father John Misty, Jenny Lewis, Panda Bear, Swans, Toro y Moi, SBTRKT, The War on Drugs, Mac DeMarco, and Tyler the Creator.
Whle Coachella may be a yearly hot topic due to the crowd it draw, it doesn't meant the festival is exempt from critics. For instance, there is a notable preference to male performers as headliners, Billboard notes. "For the eighth straight year, Coachella has stacked the headlining slots with male performers, failing to bring in a female or female-fronted group to cap off the main stage every year since Bjork performed in 2007," reveals the site.
Tickets for this year's Coachella are priced at $375 for general admission, while VIP tickets cost $899, reports The Press Enterprise. Car camping is also available for $85. Coachella 2015 tickets will be on sale Wednesday around noon.
Registering to get passes can be done through Coachella's official website. It also includes a step-by-step process of getting the tickets. The Press Enterprise adds as a tip: "Don't give up. Last year, when it initially looked like some passes were sold out, some folks who were seeking tickets were able to get some after logging back in a few minutes later."
Other options also include a wristband with a shuttle pass, which costs $435, adds The Press Enterprise.
Coachella 2015 will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio and is produced by Goldenvoice.
Coachella was first launched in 1999, shares U-T San Diego. The article also mentions having more than 20 percent of the attendees hailing from the San Diego County, with last year having over 95,000 people per day.
