Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. match is today's most awaited fight, but although the chance that the two will fight in the ring is getting more and more possible, Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar de la Hoya has serious doubts that the fight will ever happen.
Sunstar reported: "I'm not speaking to you as a promoter, I'm speaking to you as a fan. I want the fight to happen, but I have a feeling that it's not going to happen. Bob (Arum) and Pacquiao already conceded to everything. They have their deal in place, so now they are waiting on Mayweather. I just don't think Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao. I don't think it's going to happen," de la Hoya told Boxing Scene.
Pacquiao and Arum already agreed to the terms Mayweather but it seems that the American boxer is not yet ready or willing to sign the contract.
"There are too many details. I don't know anything about the details and the negotiations, but it's so complicated. I'm sure they are talking a rematch, who gets what, if this guy wins the terms change and the numbers change. It's very complicated," said de la Hoya.
Pacquiao has reportedly agreed to a 60-40 split on fight purse. This and several terms have already been finalized, and they will also undergo a random drug test before the fight. It was also mentioned that the venue of the fight will be in MGM Grand Arena and the fight will happen on the 2nd day of May, reported Latin Post.
Fans continue to hope that this most anticipated fight will finally happen. Pacquiao and his camp already submitted to the terms of Mayweather who appears to be reluctant to sign the contract. Oscar de la Hoya already expressed his doubts if the fight is ever going to happen.
