"Transformers 5" will be in production this year and fans can hopefully see the film in theaters on 2016. However as director Michael Bay leaves the film franchise, the future of Transformers becomes uncertain.

Transformers: Age of Extinction was criticized for its lack of storytelling and over rated action according to International Business Times. It was nominated by The Golden Raspberry Awards, popularly known as Razzies, as one of the worst movies of 2014. A lot of fans felt disappointed in the fourth Transformers film since there was a complete overhaul in the cast and the direction of the movie.

The producers for the fifth installment should now plan carefully the next step that they would take and the direction of the Transformers film franchise in order to achieve the same success that they had in the first three films.

Fans can expect that the plot for the next Transformers film will involve Optimus Prime meeting the creators of the Autobots and Decepticons considering that the final part of the film shows Prime blasting into space. According to Gospel Herald, Peter Cullen, the voice actor for Optimus Prime, has revealed that "the Transformers movies are going into a darker area". He also suggests that "Transformers 5 and 6 will go back more to its roots".

The cast for the upcoming "Transformers 5" movie will still include Mark Wahlberg, who will reprise his role in the fifth film. He even made a comment on the status of Michael Bay's involvement in the film saying that "I can't speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we'll be on the set soon".

Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis, who both appeared in G.I. Joe: Retribution, could appear in Transformers 5 according to the reports. Fans may see a possible crossover between Transformers and G.I. Joe film franchises considering that both of them are owned by Hasbro.

In additional report of Master Herald, Megan Fox may return in "Transformers 5". This rumor began to circulate online when she stated in an interview that she is still interested in reprising her role, running a bike shop in the movie and assembling an Autobot motorcycle.

"Transformers 5" is expected to be released on 2016 and rumors are circulating left and right on who will be included in the film and the path that it will take. Fans have to wait for the official statement of Hasbro over these rumors. Stay in tune for more updates of this.
