Filming for "How Old Are You" Tamil remake has ended, marking Jyothika's return to the movie scene. However, there is still no news on what the official title of the original Malayalam movie will be.
"How Old Are You" Tamil remake director Rosshan Andrrews himself shared on Facebook that the filming has concluded only after 46 days of filming, reports IB Times. Andrrews also directed the original Malayalam version of the movie.
Being one of the most awaited films of the year, the movie has been in headlines since it was announced.
The movie started shooting on mid-November 2014 in New Delhi. One of the early stills from the movie showed Jyothika in a scene with the President of India, shot at Rashtrapathi Bhavan. The filming ended with the last shot in Shollinganallur last week, The Hindu reports.
This is Jyothika's comeback, which is paralleled with Manju Warrier's return to the movie industry with the original Malayalam movie after a 14-year break. Jyothika will be returning after a 7-year hiatus. Her last movie was 2007's "Manikanda."
The original Malayalam version centered around a government clerk named Nirupama, who "gives no importance to her personal life and devotes her free time to look after her husband and daughter." The movie centers on the events happening after Nirupama met the President of India.
One reason why the movie is highly-anticipated is because it tackles women empowerment. The movie also "shows how every woman should come out of her restrictions to dreams and reach heights."
Though the movie has already finished filming, its official title is yet to be released.
Rahman also stars in the film opposite Jyothika. Abhirami and Sanjay Bharathi are also in the cast. Santhosh Narayanan was in-charge of the music for the movie, which is currently scheduled for a March or April release. Currently, it is undergoing post-production.
Jyothika's husband, Suriya, produced the remake under 2D Entertainment.
Moreover, actor Suriya also has the rights for the "All-India" remake of the film, including rights for translations in Kannada and Hindi. It is not confirmed whether Jyothika will also be in the Hindi and Kannada versions, New Indian Express shares.
