Robert Downey Jr. has huge part in coming Civil War, well in the third installment of Captain America film franchise. The actor, best known nowadays as Iron man, served big slice in the next big challenge of Captain Steve Rogers played by hunk actor Chris Evans.
"They [Marvel] said to me, 'If we have you, we can do [Civil War], or Cap 3 has to be something else. It's nice to feel needed. And at this point it's about helping each other, too. I look at it as a competition and I go, 'Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along," the 49-year old actor said in his interview with Empire.
Seeing these Marvel superheroes clashing, which initially showcased in the Avengers, is one of the highlights of Captain America 3 directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. As early spoilers suggested Civil War in the Marvel's dimension, the techie and impulsive Tony Stark (Downey) is not on the same page with old fashioned tactical Steve on the issue of Superhero Registration Act.
With the eccentricity of Tony Stark's persona, it is no surprise that he could be a good and bad guy at the same time. That trait is possibly made Ironman an extraordinaire superhero especially in the upcoming Captain America movie. But Downey shared Steve is evolving and surprising too, something that fans should look forward too.
"The biggest question is, for Chris and for Cap, how do we bring Cap to a place where people go, 'Man, I never thought I would see such a vast change in Steve.' After you see Snowpiercer, you're like, 'I want to see a little bit of that guy.'"
Other actors included in Captain America 3: Civil War, which will premiere on May 6, 2016, are Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Daniel Bruhl.
