The Northeast blizzard caused many establishment to close on Monday due to the expected snowstorm that would cover the affected areas with record breaking snowfalls. However public offices and schools were not the only establishments closed, the blizzard also forced the WWE Monday Night Raw to cancel its regular Monday night airing.
The show would have started around 8 in the evening, an hour before the reported travel ban due to the impending blizzard. Due to the inclement weather, the WWE management decided to give Monday's ticket buyers the privilege of watching Thursday's XL Center event.
Normally, Thursday's event would be taped, but due to the cancellation of the WWE Monday Night Raw, it would be aired live, which would include WWE Superstars and Divas that were favorites from the Monday's regular programming.
This was the first time that WWE had to cancel their program. Instead of having the usual WWE Monday Night Raw, the fans would be watching a studio aired special shot at Stamford, Connecticut.

The snowstorm did not only affect the Monday event but a series of WWE event within the blizzard week. Smackdown, which was supposedly to be set in Boston, would be set in the XL Center at Hartford. Smackdown ticket holder would have an option for a full refund or have the tickets switched for a full house show set on June 27th.
WWE made an announcement on their website Monday about the postponement of "Monday Night Raw" through a teaser detailing what fans would be expecting on their screens in place of the regular three hour show.
As the announcement was posted, some WWE stars have gone to social media and posted what they were doing in the midst of the heavy snowstorm; enjoying the free time at home with family or friends before heading out to rumble next week when the skies clear and give way to the WWE stars.
