Lil Wayne Releases New Album 'The Calvin V'; Rapper Sues 'Cash Money Records' and Asks for a Split

Lil Wayne wants a split! He's had enough of his record label and wants to get on with his singing career without Cash Money Records! Rapper claims that the company stole money from him.

Famous rapper Lil Wayne is so done with his record company Cash Money Records. He's about to get what he claims due to him and is filing a $51M law suit against the record label. Cash Money is current promoting Lil Wayne's latest album, "The Carter V", which was released last month. Unfortunately, Wayne claims that things between him and his recording company have been sour for the last four years. The record label is failing to comply with the premises of their contract regarding monthly statements and in time payments of profits, according to the rapper.

Wayne even claims that the record label stiffed him for $8 million on his latest album release "The Carter V". In the federal case he has filed, the performer is asking the Manhattan judge to vid all the contracts that he has with the recording company since November 1998.

Lil Wayne is also the partial owner of Young Money label, a record label tied up with Cash Money. He was supposed to receive 49% share of all the net income received from the solo recordings of rapper Drake back in 2012. He claims that he did not receive the shares from that recording label as well. Cash Money also failed to report cash expenses for the Young Money label to Drake, something they have agreed to conform for transactions over $300,000. With all these money discrepancies and issues between the rapper and the record label, Dwayne resorted to bring everything else to the proper court.

On the other hand, Cash Money has been very silent and is not releasing any statement to retaliate Dwayne's accusations. Lil Wayne's mentor, Bryan Williams is also a co-founder of the record label but has remained silent ever since the issue surfaced.

Looks like "The Carter V" will be the last ever album Lil Dwayne will have with Cash Money.
