"Star Trek 3" is the third installment for the sci-fi series "Star Trek" who was rebooted last 2009. Produced by Paramount Pictures, the latest film is now undergoing a huge reformation in its production team.
The latest Star Trek movie will be directed by Justin Lin according to a recent report. Lin well-known for his works on the blockbuster films "Furious 6" and "Fast 5". A new writing team will also be lead by Doug Jung who had been the screenwriter for "Banshee" and "Dark Blue".
In the same report, Simon Pegg, who also plays U.S.S. Enterprise Lt. Com. Montgomery Scott, will be helping Jung in writing the script for the upcoming "Star Trek" movie. Lead actor Chris Pine made some remarks on the new assignment of Pegg as script writer. Pine jokingly made a comment and said that "We are worried," adding that there will be a "Vast, vast Simon Pegg monologues." However the actor changed his tone later and said that Simon reached out to them and the rest of the production team saying. Pine added that "Yeah, he sent an e-mail to all of us, and we're all really excited," he added "What we enjoy about it is that we have a laugh. We want to make sure that that's still embedded in there, so to have Simon writing it is the perfect fit."
Simon Pegg has a good standing as a writer according to Breath Cast. He may help the whole cast and crew of "Star Trek 3" in reviving the franchise. There were reports that a lot of critics did not like the direction where the previous "Star Trek" films were heading under the helm of Director J.J. Abrams. Critics said that the whole "Star Trek" film franchise is becoming too much like the "Star Wars" films.
Paramount Pictures is sticking with their schedule with the upcoming film. They have not issued any alteration or statement that they are adjusting their 2016 release target according to Movie News Guide.
"Star Trek 3" is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2016. Fans of the series can expect a different direction on the upcoming film with its new production team.
