"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the most awaited games from Square Enix. Since the upcoming title was announced in E3 last 2013, fans of the Kingdom Hearts game series has been constantly awaiting news on its current development. Lead Developers reveal the status of the game as well as what fans can expect in its release.
Square Enix has been developing "Kingdom Hearts 3" closely with Disney Studios. Fans of the game franchise may get to see new and popular universe on the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. A report states that Star Wars' Darth Vader may come to the game and wreak havoc over Sora and friends. They may also incorporate the ice queen Elsa from the "Frozen" movie since it was a blockbuster and popular to the fans of the game. However, as of right now, there are no official announcement from Square Enix and Disney with regards to these new characters and worlds.
With regards to the development of the game, Tai Yasue, the co-director and designer of the game stated that they wanted to have diversity in the worlds that they are going to use. Different types of worlds with different categories will be utilized. According to Yasue, this will allow a gaming experience a new approach "That will make it feel fresh, like you're having an adventure."
The development team, through Yasue, also wants "Kingdom Hearts 3" to "...to evolve it in a new direction, but at the same time we don't want to change what is fundamental about Kingdom Hearts." He added that "We're hiring new people continuously, so they are learning about Kingdom Hearts through making 2.5. It's a good learning experience."
Furthermore, Tai Yasue said that there are two teams in their development process. One team is assigned to port Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5, and the other in developing "Kingdom Hearts 3" but they have overlapping game design and artist. According to Yasue, "During the initial stage for Kingdom Hearts 3, we had a lot of planning for game design, experimentation, research and development. [This way] it's good and productive, artist and designers do both at once," he also added that "Inside the HD version, everything is connected to Kingdom Hearts III, so we will have events that explains the backstory of the kingdoms so you get a full understanding. All of the content through 1.5 and 2.5 connect to the story of Kingdom Hearts 3."
In this way, Square Enix may increase the longevity of "Kingdom Hearts 3" with the fresh approach on the development team. Gamers may observe that this will be a great news since a lot of game publishers and developers tend to release short games and continue to profit with DLC's and additional expansions.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is still under development under Square Enix and Disney's joint venture. Amazon has listed the game for $59.99 with a December 2015 release but fans should not let their hopes up without an official announcement from the game producers.
