"Battlefield Hardline" Open Beta Update: Gear, Guns and Map Details Unveiled; Service Stars Required to Unlock

By

"Battlefield: Hardline" is one of the most anticipated games of 2015. And while we're still more than a month away from its release (the game is set to hit stores on March 17, 2015), those itching to get behind the latest "Battlefield" game are in luck- the open beta for the game has just gone live, and gamers can now begin playing "Battlefield Hardline" for the first time.

The beta's an open beta- which means that anyone can play "Battlefield Hardline" while it's in the beta stages. There are no requirements to play the game, like having to preorder "Battlefield Hardline" or purchase a previous game in the series. Just download the beta and start shooting. However, there are some pretty strict system requirements, which have been listed in detail at the game's Origin page.

As well, there are three modes and three maps in the beta. The modes are "Hotwire," where the criminals have to hotwire and steal a certain number of cars; "Conquest," which is similar to previous Conquest modes in other "Battlefield" games and features players trying to capture certain spawnpoints; and "Heist," where criminals have to crack a safe and steal the money inside, while the cops have to stop them.

As well, the three maps in the open beta are "Downtown," "Dust Bowl" and "Bank Job."

A few more details on the open beta- the beta ranges from 32 to 64 players, and every piece of gear in the game (guns, vehicles, armor and gadgets) will be available to unlock in the open beta. To unlock those items, you'll need to kill your opponents in combat, then spend the cash you win from killing them on new gear. Service Stars are also required for certain unlocks. And that's enough info for now- it's time we all got into "Battlefield Hardline" while the open beta lasts.
