Last Monday, the Scottish institution finally stripped off Oscar Pistorius' honorary degree that was awarded to him since 2012.
Strathclyde University announced last February 2 that they have taken away the honorary degree that was awarded to him because of the criminal charges filed against him.
"We have revoked the honorary degree awarded to Oscar Pistorius following his conviction for culpable homicide," the institution representative quoted.
According to some reports, Pistorius has already been convicted with culpable homicide after being found guilty for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last October five years ago.
He shot her four times because he thought that she was an intruder during the early hours of the Valentine's Day in 2013 in the locked toilet door. The prosecutors seen that he deliberately killed the 29-year-old law student, however, this was dumped by the trial judge and he was able to escape from the murder conviction.
Last year, Pistorius as cited in The Guardian, denied the charges filed and pleaded not guilty to the murder and firearm charges while telling the court in "strongest terms" that he didn't intend to kill his girlfriend. He defended that the intruder was in his bathroom when he fired and accidentally shot her.
Testimonies were heard from Michelle Burger, who told the court that she heard the two fighting and shouting. However, she emphasized the screams of the woman who was believed to something like her life is already been threatened. She also added that she heard four gun shots during that night.
Meanwhile, Pistorius has been sentenced for a five-year imprisonment with a concurrent three-year suspended prison for separate reckless endangermen after bringing firearms. He is even confirmed to have a problem with handling his abrupt anger.
Oscar Pistorius' brother, on the other hand, was reported to have stemmed with another car causing wreckage. But, he was later released by the rescuers with the use of jaws of the life device although the other driver suffered from multiple injuries and was rushed immediately to the hospital.
Pistorius was considered one of the best known extraordinary athlete widely-known as "Blade Runner" who was also considered the first amputee athlete in the history of Olympics.
