'Louie' Season 5 Spoilers: Creator Louie C.K. focuses on Funnier Sides than Dramatic Approach; Answers Criticisms Against the Comedy Show

By

Louie is back and he's on air beginning April 9 at 10:30 pm. The atypical FX's comedy program will only have 8 episodes for its fifth season, but show's creator and actor Louie C.K. promises it's going to be funnier and laugh-centric.

"The feeling that I was having when I wrote this last season-I'm done writing it now-was just a very goofy feeling, a very playful feeling going into this season," the multitalented Mexican- American star shared at the TCA (Television Critics Association)'s winter press tour.

In addition to this, C.K. also noted that contrary to season 4 the next chapter of his series will be less dramatic. At the press tour, the comedian was also asked about the last season's dramatic tone and criticisms he got due to issues Louie intentionally or unintentionally tackled. One particular scene mentioned was when C.K. tried to kiss his co-star Pamela Adlon.

"It was meant to be funny. To me, she wasn't scared in the scene. She was annoyed," the award-winning TV personality expressed. "To me, she was never under my control in the scene. She was never in danger."

Incidentally, Adlon and C.K. will have a brand new show together entitled 'Better Things.' The program is created and will star Pamela, but it's Louie who will direct it. Shooting for Better Things will start after they finish doing Louie season 5.

Apart from Adlon's case, C.K . also answered the question about Sarah Baker's character in season 4. The Good Lie actress played Vanessa, a waitress and love interest of Louie in episode "So Did the Fat Lady." That part sparked controversy as it apparently disparaged fat women.

"I've had times in my life where I've been heavy or felt outside of the circle having a good, attractive time in life," C.K. explained. "And so part of me was talking about how it feels for me sometimes - or has. It's something I wrote in a flow. It came out in one big long spray. And she [Baker] delivered it so beautifully."

Louie is an extraordinary comedy show that blends scripted ideas and C.K.'s standup comedy. The 47-year old comedian bagged Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series awards in 2012 and 2014 from
