‘The Amazing Spider Man 3’ Latest Update: Webslinger may finally join Civil, Infinity Wars? Sony changes top executive

"The Amazing Spider Man 3" has been left in Sony's pre-production table for a long time. Things may finally move now with the Amy Pascal, the co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, leaving the company and the plans for the "Spider Man" franchise. Fans may get to see their favorite superhero join Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" and the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War".

Amy Pascal recently just stepped down as co-chairman of Sony in order to launch her own production company. Pascal has been reported as the person in charge of expanding the "Spider-Man" universe in Sony and she has the creative control over the whole franchise. With her recent departure, other Sony top brass may take over and re-evaluate the direction of "Spider-Man" films.

Pascal has been planning to switch to production and Sony will still be funding her company for four years while retaining the distribution rights for the films produced. In the same report, Pascal said in an interview that "I have spent almost my entire professional life at Sony Pictures and I am energized to be starting this new chapter based at the company I call home".

Sony's CEO Michael Lynton and the successor of Amy Pascal can now reassess "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" movie and the whole franchise. This will leave a lot of opportunities for the "Spider-Man" to swing into Marvel universe in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" and "Avengers: Infinity War" where his presence can have a huge impact on the film as he did in the comic book. The new Sony team that will handle the creative direction of "Spider Man" film franchise may get on the negotiating table with Marvel Studio to discuss a collaboration of some sort.

Marvel Studios has been very successful in adopting their comic book superheroes into the big screen. In fact, Marvel Cinematic Universe has been expanding quite well fans have been seeing a lot of collaboration and crossovers lately. This will not be a big surprise if Spider-Man returns back to Marvel's fold. In fact, returning the webslinger to Marvel can reinvigorate the who "Spider-Man" film franchise.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 3" may now be reconsidered by Sony under a new creative team. Fans can hope that Peter Parker may hit the theaters soon and quite possibly join the two greatest wars in comic book, "Captain America: Civil War" and "Avengers: Infinity War".
