Writer-director of the recent sci-fi Marvel film "Guardians of the Galaxy" James Gunn took his time to hold a Q&A forum for the movie fans on Facebook. He spilled some facts about the upcoming film. In the first installment, the film featured Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) journey and origin, as he was abducted by space being when he was a child. He then later becomes a fugitive and got involved in a disaster when he accidentally stole a powerful weapon. In this wild chase, he meets his enemies-turned-friends Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista).
Spoiler Alert: Details About The Sequel
Although there hasn't been an official statement about the movie's plot, Gunn answered a few questions from the fans, leading us closer to the possible outcome. He says some of the parts from the comics will be altered to make a coherent story. The first question in our minds are who are the returning characters? Luckily, Pratt, Saldana, Cooper, and Bautista will be reprising their roles. How about Groot? "Well, who says baby Groot is Groot and not Groot's son. He might be dead." Gunn teased, International Business Times reports.
According to Movie Web, Nebula (Karen Gillan) will be returning too. "Sometimes people are confused what happens to Nebula. She looks down for something to fall on, allows herself to fall on a Ravager craft, and takes out the Goth Ravager inside and flies away, leaving everyone to deal with this s*** themselves, because she's stopped caring. She will be back." Gunn said in a statement.
Reports also say that Star-Lord's father will be appearing, taking in an important part of the film. But no clues have been released on who will play the part. Yondu (Michael Rooker) will be back as well but Ronan (Lee Pace) will sit this one out. As remembered, Ronan died in battle in the first movie. When asked if the villain will return anytime soon, the writer said "Who knows. But not in 2, no." So who will be the main villain this time? Does that mean we'll have a new character?
Stay tuned to find out more details about the production and plot. "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2017.
