Netflix content subscribers would soon be having a blast with the latest versions of Xbox One and PS4 as the two giant names in gaming consoles would undergo upgrades within the year. Among the supposed hardware upgrades to be included by Microsoft and Sony in their gaming consoles would be the 4k Netflix content support capability.
Both Microsoft and Sony were extremely active in making hardware upgrades in the previous decade. Somehow, Netflix would be gambling on the next upgrade for the Xbox One and PS4 as it was rumored that the two gaming consoles would be switching to the latest standard HDMI 2.0, which would support the 4K Netflix content by fall this year.
Even though a number of 4K TV sets have been released, Netflix could somehow be the biggest beneficiary of the hardware upgrade since Netflix would be the only major 4k content provider while broadcast television might take a while before it upgrades to the more advance 4k display. Also, the 4k Netflix content would be available through premium Netflix streaming plan.
Although Xbox One and PS4 have not been quite specific about the next hardware upgrade, there two had been making some consideration over the upgrade towards 4k display. Nonetheless, there would be very few games that would benefit in the latest 4k display. Then again, Netflix subscribers would be truly entertained when they get a hold of the latest gaming consoles that give them the ability to play the games they love as well as watch 4k Netflix content, somehow making them an exclusive group.
With the hype building up over the next generation gaming consoles for Xbox One and PS4, Netflix CPO Neil Hunt was certain that both Microsoft and Sony would upgrade to the 4k display and live up to their "promise." Netflix would provide digitally enhanced content for the 4k display capable gaming consoles as it had done with 4k TV.
Among the titles included in the Netflix 4k Ultra HD would be "House of Cards Season 2," the entire series of "Breaking Bad," as well as movies from the "Ghostbusters" to the "Smurfs 2."
