The game uses the same engine like the 2012's Sniper Elite V2 since it has the same standalone downloadable content with the shooter series. Furthermore, according to the game's official site, this is revolving around circa 1945 where Hitler was still unleashing his "one last unholy gamble" as he faced his own defeat.

Meanwhile, with the release of game in consoles, the developer made sure that the game is ready before the launching both in current-generation consoles and in PC versions.
"We always wanted to support, but the consoles at the time couldn't handle the PC tech we were pushing ... with so many people Tweeting us about it, we had to prove to ourselves that it was viable both in terms of game dev, and financially," Kingsley said.
Kgnsley also mentioned that Zombie Army Trilogy will be in five new missions with four new playable characters.
