The legendary and iconic Sylvester Stallone (Escape Plan) confirmed that he and his team will be back to rock the streets in the fourth installment of the action-packed film series "Expendables". Stallone confirmed the production of the film last year and since then, the team has been keeping the details low. Rumors had been circulating that many stars are still in negotiation on their roles and places on the film. Reports say that the film is scheduled for release in 2016 but with the film's current pace, they might also consider 2017 as well.
Who Will Join The Powerhouse Team?
With the limited details about the film, all the fans can do for now is to speculate. According to Air Herald, Pierce Brosnan (The November Man) and Jackie Chan (Rush Hour) might be recruited in the team. The first one might sound exciting and realistic but recent reports say that Chan might not be able to join the film due to the large amount of projects he has now. Brosnan on the other hand might be open for the idea but the details are still slim.
In addition, Stallone might be considering Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to fill a seat in the film. He might best suit a villain's shoes. The latest installment, succeeding at a $204 million earnings, is still considered to be on low returns. Perhaps that is why Stallone decided to lessen the violent scenes for the movie to lose the R-13 rating. In this way, the film can cater to different markets and audience.
Even if the casting isn't final as of this moment, some of the biggest stars and possible returning cast that Stallone worked in the previous "Expendables" are Jason Statham (Lee Christmas), Jet Li (Yin Yang), Arnold Schwarzenneger (Trench), Antonio Banderas (Galgo), Dolph Lundgren (Gunnar Jensen, Wesley Snipes (Doc), only to name a few.
So who would you want to see in the upcoming "Expendables 4"? Stay tuned for more updates about the film.
