It's been two years since a Transformer movie premiered in theaters. While there are still no development in "Transformers 5", film producers explains the possibility of cross over with G.I. Joe. Michael Bay may also step down as the film director in order to let the Transformer Franchise take a new direction.
A preview of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe #5 book was recently revealed and it gave fans a glimpse of hope that there can be a possible cross over between the two film franchises. According to a recent report, the cross over book was released this February 11 and it is a strong indicator that a merger and cross over is imminent. However, Lorenzo di Bonaventura debunked the rumors saying that "I don't think [it's] in the near future at all," adding that "It's not something we talk about either. There's a lot more story to be told in both cases. And I think if at some moment we think, 'You know what? It's time to bring the two of them together,' we'll do that. But I think they're strong enough to exist on their own."
"Transformers 5" production is currently in a standstill with reports of Michael Bay leaving the director's seat. If things won't start moving in the production team of the movie, the film's release will be definitely delayed to 2017.
Even though Michael Bay will not be at the helm of the "Transformers 5" he will still be able to participate in the production of the film franchise as the executive producer. According to his recent interview, Bay said that "there's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."
News states that Jonathan Liebesman will be the new director for the latest Transformers movie. Liebesman has been involved in the recent reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and he will be a good fit for the action packed scenes in "Transformers 5".
"Transformers 5" production is still in limbo but fans of the film franchise can expect a different kind of Transformers as it heads into a new direction.
