Samsung Galaxy Launching of Tab A, Tab A Plus Set Soon; Samsung Yet to Confirm Specs and Price

By

Samsung is working on four mid-end Galaxy tablets, two of which will bear the name Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus. The Plus models will be the first non-Note device supplied with S Pen, and that will probably the only notable difference between the two.

The said tablets that will be introduced to the market soon will come in two sizes: 8 inch and 9.7 inch. Size differences aside, both will share a number of features, such as display resolution and camera resolution and storage capacity.

Hence, the two Tab models will have a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels with 4:3 aspect ratio and 5 megapixels for main cameras and 2 megapixels for front cameras.

Other than the addition of S Pen to Plus variants, all other features that it will have will be relatively the same or slightly different in certain aspects.

For instance, the 8.0 variants will be powered by quad core Snapdragon 410 CPU and clocked at 1.2 GHz. The 9.7-inch variants, on the other hand, will rely on APQ8016 processor which is relatively new. The two devices will also have slightly different RAM configuration. The Plus models will get 2 GB, while the Tab A units will get 1.5 GB.

Both models will be powered by 4200 mAh batteries, though the 9.7 inchers will have to rely to 6000 mAh batteries. In addition, these models will come as two variants: LTE and WiFi.

Except the S Pen stylus which is viewed as the unique selling point of the Plus variants, all the other features of the two devices (main and add-ons) represent everything that is mid-ranger. That's why when it comes to price, it will not have to cost that much.

Samsung, however, will have to confirm these pieces of information about the Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus. If these devices will be offered at the right price, they can contend with other mid-range tablets in the market.
