‘Assassin’s Creed: Unity’ Xbox One, PS4, PC Update: Ubisoft CEO irons out controversy surrounding botched game, expresses confidence on improved game engine

Frustrated players of "Assassin's Creed: Unity" were given answers about the title's future as no less than Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot took it to discussion in the recently held investor's meeting.

Guillemot said that "lessons were learned," in the process of damage control for the technical issue laden release of "Assassin's Creed: Unity." He added that the experience was "painful for the whole group, and everything has to be calibrated." Guillemot admitted to the investors during the conference call that "the game was imperfect when it was launched." However, he mentioned that "the engine has been created and it would help the game in the future."

In November 2014 when "Assassin's Creed: Unity" was released, many players as well as game critics were in for a surprise; and, it wasn't to good kind. The newest title from a game that hailed so much acclaim from its fans somewhat have gone haywire. There were noticeable glitches and among these would be the AI that looked like they were skinned animatronics. Guillemot explained that these glitches were a result of their "transition to newer game consoles."

Guillemot also clarified that they have already redid "100% of the engine." He guaranteed that the next title would be a better experience for players, after the nightmare they experienced during falls last year. The upcoming "Assassin's Creed" game would be using the improved and tweaked engine of "Assassin's Creed: Unity."

Meanwhile, Ubisoft assured its investors that business remained robust despite the "Assassin's Creed: Unity" glitch. The company reported that it was able to beat their sales forecast for the 2014 holiday quarter. The records showed a 55.8% year-on-year increase with a US$90 million difference compared to sales made last 2013.

With lessons learned, Ubisoft would hopefully make that one step backward, two steps forward business stroke that would not only make the game title earn more money but keep the active fan base loyal and happy.
