Electronic Arts have ended the speculation surrounding "Titanfall 2." The first person shooter video game's sequel would first make its mark on the latest gaming consoles as well as on Microsoft Windows.
However, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that a sequel to the 2007 open-world multiplayer game was on the works. He added that "Titanfall 2" would be initially released on PS4, Xbox One and the PC. Jorgensen said they would be expecting the sequel to leave a "bigger footprint" compared to its predecessor.
"Titanfall 2" was rumored for release on 2016 based on the statement made by Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella. He said that 2015 would be "quiet for the developers." He added that this would be a year "where teams will be heads down, back to work."
Perhaps, "Titanfall" had already learned its lesson after deciding to launch the game exclusively on Xbox, ostracizing other players who do not own the game console. With the multi-platform launch of "Titanfall 2," Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts would have redeemed themselves as players who were earlier shunned by the exclusive release might consider picking it up from the racks upon its release by 2016.
Earlier, Respawn Entertainment made a statement that they would be focusing at the moment on updates for "Titanfall" and they might even look outside the box; could even consider looking at other possible titles to launch. The game had suffered immensely due to competition last 2014. There had also been instances that "Titanfall" focused merely on updates and patches for the game, without a planned sequel leaking over the Internet.
Despite keeping mum on the release date for "Titanfall 2," the recent update on the title would definitely be a breath of fresh air, especially after the game suffered a relative loss to other game titles that offered different spectacular features on their DLC, multi-player mode and multi-platform availability.
