Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Shows Up on Geekbench Again—Hits Record High Multicore Points

Galaxy S6 Edge comes back on Geekbench with a record high multi-core score of 5,375 points-a formative development that the handset device is getting better as it approaches debut.

A recent news report suggests that Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge is most likely to beat Apple's iPad Air 2 seeing its performance test with octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset in it, which paves the way to hitting 1,495 points in single-core and a whopping 5,375 points in the multi-core test on February 17. If these scores are correct, they will run laps around Snapdragon 810-based devices.

Galaxy S6 Edge outperformed LG's G3 and G Flex 2, HTC's Nexus 9 and One (M8), relatives Galaxy Note 4 and S5, Meizu's MX4 Pro, Motorola's Nexus 6, and Sony's Experia.

Samsung's future flagship brand will be updated TouchWiz with 64-bit processing which foresees the S line with make a complete revamp in the mobile game.

The report from Geekbench confirmed the new Exynos 7420 to power up Galaxy S6 Edge. The chipset is built on the company's 14nm process and includes four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A57 cores.

The Korean tech titan Samsung is reported to launch their latest Galaxy S family member on March 1 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The debut is expected to be the second device to be unveiled here alongside Galaxy S6.

Earlier reports say Galaxy S6 Edge will sport a curved screen on both left and right sides although it has not been confirmed yet as of now.

On top of that, a tech site informs Galaxy S6 will showcase a 5.1-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display (Almost the same with the Super AMOLED panel), 3GB of DDR4 RAM, and pre-installed Android 5.0.2 mobile operating system with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Front and rear cameras will have 5 megapixel, while Mali-T760 or MP8 is in charge of the graphics. The device also comes in various internal storage variations.
