"Ant-Man" is still a long way away (the film premieres on June 17th of this year), but that hasn't stopped spoilers from leaking out about the film- and we're finding out way more than we've already seen in the film's first trailer.
The most recent spoilers come from a recent crop of toys that may have revealed a crucial part of the film's ending. In one such toy (as reported by Cinema Blend), we see Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in his Ant-Man suit, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) as the villainous Yellow Jacket, and one other character.
And SPOILERS, obviously, if you'd like to go into "Ant-Man" unspoiled. If not, here goes.
Along with the lead superhero and the lead villain is a figure of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), in a superhero costume of his own.
Now, as many comic fans might know, Hank Pym is the original Ant-Man, and donned that costume for many years as a member of the Avengers. But we've heard or seen nothing until now about Pym being a superhero in the upcoming film, so this may be a major spoiler that Marvel has tried (and failed, apparently) to keep under wraps.
Although MoviePilot has a few other opinions about why Hank Pym might be suited up in this particular LEGO set. They're claiming it may be possible that Pym was just added in for some extra superhero action in the toy- and not the movie. It's happened before- toys adding extra elements that aren't seen in the movie, to spice things up. Or Pym might appear in the Ant-Man suit in flashback only, which has somehow made its way to the toy.
Who knows what this could mean for "Ant-Man." The trailer hasn't given us anything about Pym in the Ant-Man suit, and neither have any other spoilers that have crept up about the film. If it's worth anything, Screen Crush seems to think the toy is legit. But we'll find out for sure when "Ant-Man" premieres in June.
